A Massachusetts resident, known by the name Shape Shifter, is suing Fenway Health for knowingly and willfully removing safety procedures from its transgender healthcare practice. For more information and analysis of the case, read Medicine with a “Transgender Bias” - A new lawsuit raises the question of whether “gender-affirming care” constitutes gay conversion therapy and violated the civil rights of a gay man, written by Leor Sapir and Joseph Figliolia for City Journal.
Fenway Health, founded in 1971 in Boston MA, is today the largest LGBT health and research facility in the United States and a national leader in “transgender health.” Shapeshifter, age 32, is a gay male detransitioner. At age 22 he started identifying as trans and at age 23 he began receiving estrogen from Fenway Health. At 24, Fenway Health started him down the surgical path and in less than a year he underwent facial feminization surgery, breast implants, orchiectomy, and vaginoplasty. The vaginoplasty required multiple revision surgeries. In 2018, he started making Youtube videos detailing his surgical complications and in 2022, alongside many other detransitioners, he provided testimony and spoke out against “transgender medicine” before the Florida Board of Medicine Committee.
