Support Seth Moulton!
Now is the time to tell every single elected official in MA that you stand alongside Congressman Seth Moulton in supporting the integrity of female sports.
This is a breakthrough moment for Massachusetts! It is the first time that any Democratic elected official in Massachusetts has spoken out in favor of prioritizing sex over gender identity for the purpose of protecting the sex-based rights of women and girls to fair and safe competition in sports.
On November 7th the New York Times reported that Massachusetts Congressman Seth Moulton (Democrat) made the following statement:
“Democrats spend way too much time trying not to offend anyone rather than being brutally honest about the challenges many Americans face,” Mr. Moulton said. “I have two little girls, I don’t want them getting run over on a playing field by a male or formerly male athlete, but as a Democrat I’m supposed to be afraid to say that.”
Criticism of Rep. Moulton’s statement swiftly followed with the Boston Globe reporting on November 8th: Salem Mayor, School Committee members rebuke Seth Moulton over comments on transgender athletes and Top aide resigns amid criticism over Seth Moulton’s comments on trans identifying male athletes.
On the same day, MassEquality, a prominent MA transgender advocacy group, criticized Rep. Moulton in an email to their supporters which in part reads [emphasis added]: “Unfortunately, recent comments made by Congressman Seth Moulton regarding transgender athletes have further compounded our community's sense of vulnerability. Referring to transgender athletes as "male or formerly male," the Congressman's remarks were both harmful and factually inaccurate. These statements contribute to the ongoing stigmatization of transgender people, especially transgender women and girls, in sports.” In addition, some former staffers and interns of congressman Moulton are signing this letter which requests an apology to the LGBTQ+ community.
Rep. Moulton released a statement, reported in the Boston Globe, it reads:
“I stand firmly in my belief for the need for competitive women’s sports to put limits on the participation of those with the unfair physical advantages that come with being born male. I am also a strong supporter of the civil rights of all Americans, including transgender rights. I will fight, as I always have, for the rights and safety of all citizens.
These two ideas are not mutually exclusive, and we can even disagree on them. Yet there are many who, shouting from the extreme left corners of social media, believe I have failed the unspoken Democratic Party purity test. We did not lose the 2024 election because of any trans person or issue.
We lost, in part, because we shame and belittle too many opinions held by too many voters and that needs to stop. Let’s have these debates now, determine a new strategy for our party since our existing one failed, and then unite to oppose the Trump agenda wherever it imperils American values.”
Rep. Moulton also did an MSNBC interview on November 10th headlined: Rep. Moulton defends comments about trans athletes: 'The backlash I've received proves my point'

Postscript: Do you think it is just a coincidence that the Tewksbury Public Library hosted the talk MALES AND FEMALES ARE DIFFERENT AND THAT MATTERS IN SPORTS (10/3) and Tewksbury is in Rep. Moulton’s district?
Polls find a strong majority of the public, including majorities of Democrats, support protecting sex segregation in female sports, including:
A January 2024 YouGov poll found 59% of voters, including a plurality of Democrats
A September 2023 poll which found 84% of all voters, including 75% of Democrats
A May 2023 Gallup poll found that 69% of voters—a seven point increase from two years prior
A December 2022 Washington Post/KFF poll found 66% of voters
A 2022 poll looked by age and found a strong majority, including 60% of Gen Z and 65% of Millennials
A 2021 messaging guide on this could not find a single message that produced a different outcome
Yes! If there are any others who would like to schedule a meeting with him in his Salem office to thank him in person and to use this moment to speak to him because he will doubtless be new to the talking points, please let me know.
When constituents the time to meet them in person it really makes an impact. He knows now that women are serious about this and he is going to need support and info.
Maybe he is only politicking and is seizing on the opportunity to rise up in his dead-in-the-water party, but I will happily elevate him if we can be heard and stop the trans insanity.
I know he’s had his eye on the big prize and if he can build now to become the 2028 candidate he could actually pan out.
It takes 5 people I think to meet with a Rep or Senator.
Message me if you want to form a group!
i am not in Massachusetts anymore but i already sent him a thank you and i will follow up with the letters you suggest.
